Description
Disclaimer
Resurrected Original VECO Tomahawk CL Sport Combat Profile SHORT KIT for .19 to .35 Engines with a copy of the build sheet.
Recently redrawn in CAD I've kept this 99% original as based off the 1954 Model Airplane News Article.
A few changes to the original kit.
The Fuselage is 1/2" thick balsa vs 7/16" as originally designed and is CNC machined as two pieces similarly offered in the original kit which except the canopy is part of the upper fuselage half.
Landing Gear is called at 1/8" wire (vs 3/32") and is recommended that it be made in two pieces (not supplied) as opposed to a single piece.
Main Spar was originally 1/8" x 13/16" but 1/8" x 3/4" is readily available so I changed the size to that standard and cut the slot in the ribs accordingly.
Motor mounts were originally 7/16" x 3/8" and that was changed to accommodate the 1/2" Fuselage to 1/2" x 3/8" and lengthened to 4-3/4" for added stability in the nose.
The bell-crank platform and supports are cut from 1/8" ply vs 3/32" as stated on plans.
Other than that, it's pretty much as it was in the 1950's.
Please note that this is a SHORT KIT
You will still need to supply hardware, wheels, stick balsa, sheeting and anything else that is not included in the following short kit description.
