AS ORIGINALLY PUBLISHED IN FLYING MODELS for June 1955
Riley Wooten created and published this plane back in June of ‘55.
This is a good combat plane that should be easy enough to build for any scratch builder. Powered with a .35, it won many contests for its day. See the image and read some of the article above. This item is for the 19 ribs only. The two center ribs are made from three ribs that you laminate to create the two 1/2” center rib.
Included in the Pirate Rib Kit
17 Wing ribs
2 Center ribs (made from 3 ribs to be laminated)
Scale drawing of the ribs, fuselage formers, rudder and skids
Copy of the 2 page article with build instructions
Copy of plans from article (not to scale)
Additional balsa will be required to complete the plane as well as the necessary hardware.
Unfortunately, I don’t have time to do this build so any pictures would be appreciated if you complete your build.
